Ideologies & Video Games in Contemporary World
Limited Capacity seats available

I have taught Contemporary World since the course was created, and have shaped it as a political science class leading to a Model United Nations simulation. To do this requires that students have a solid understanding and appreciation for the role that ideologies and perspectives play in today's partisan world.

In this session I'll discuss two of the best tools I've encountered for teaching these concepts - The Political Compass web site and the video game Democracy 3. Both are innovative for different reasons - the former for giving the students a little self-awareness, and the latter for bringing to light how complicated agreement can be when issues are so interconnected.
